Diamond Bank Nigeria goes live on CR2’s BankWorld Internet Portals to support an integrated Internet Banking strategy.
Diamond Bank Plc, one of the leading commercial banks in Nigeria, and CR2, a leading provider of multichannel banking software solutions, today announced that the Bank’s internet banking service, DiamondOnline, has gone live on CR2’s BankWorld internet platform. The Bank ranks amongst the top 50 banks in Africa with $4 billion USD in assets, 230 branches, about 300 ATMs and 1.8 million account holders. Diamond Bank has played a pioneering role in the development of electronic banking products and services and the bank has yet again proven this feat by being the first bank to use CR2’s latest BankWorld internet solution which employs internet portal-based technology to offer new levels of interactive customer experience, flexibility and business functionality.
The BankWorld internet solution has enabled Diamond Bank to segment its customer offerings, thus providing different branding and services relevant to its customers’ profile. The solution builds on a rapid design and customisation capability that allows banks to design and deploy new online banking strategies, and adjust the services and marketing within existing segments through a drag and drop process which does not require programming. This software solution would enable the Bank present a range of different ‘shop windows’ to all its customers with each customer segment having immediate access to the services, product subscriptions, advertisements and offers most relevant to them. BankWorld system currently interfaces with Diamond Bank’s iFlex core banking system.
Announcing the development in Lagos, Head of Customer Services & Technology of the Bank, Premier Oiwoh, stated that “We decided to engage CR2 in order to take total ownership of our internet banking site. BankWorld internet portal gives us the flexibility we required to deliver different portals to our customers segments and roll out new services without relying on any vendor. We have the capacity to design a banking site that adapts to each segment of customers and deliver relevant products and services which will translate into effective cross sales.”
The statement also noted that “the BankWorld internet solution streamlines the way work is done in the bank, helping it significantly reduce costs by easily customising the internet banking in-house hence increasing customer satisfaction while maximising revenue opportunities. The internet banking solution offers customers a user-friendly interface with a more personalised experience at the e-channels. This banking solution is set to roll out shortly in all Diamond Bank’s West-African subsidiaries, thus promising its customers a novel and more satisfying internet banking experience.”
Kieran Kilcullen, Director of Sales & Marketing, CR2 commented, “After adopting CR2’s BankWorld to drive its ATM network, we are happy that Diamond Bank took the decision to migrate to BankWorld on the internet channels as well. The quality and accessibility of banking services are major criteria for any customer when selecting a bank. BankWorld will give Diamond Bank full control over its internet banking channels and will enable the bank to roll out products and services quickly and easily. We are confident that Diamond Bank’s customers will enjoy this improved banking experience through e-channels and the bank will notice a positive response in the market.”
