Botswana Savings Bank selects CR2’s BankWorld to manage their ATM and Mobile Banking Channels

In light of Botswana Savings Bank’s (BSB) recent merger with Botswana Post and their vision of best serving the people of Botswana and reaching out to the under banked, BSB selected BankWorld ATM and Mobile banking solutions designed by CR2, the leading self-service banking provider.

CR2 was selected as a partner of choice for the Bank for a number of reasons. Firstly, several of the leading banks in Botswana were already successfully managing their channels using CR2 solutions, which distinguished CR2 as a leader in the market with true local market expertise. Furthermore, the CR2 BankWorld platform had the ability to take the Bank forward to provide innovative self-service products for its customers and reach new target segments. The solution was in a position not only to substantially reduce operational challenges that BSB previously faced, but to deliver advanced revenue generating services also. Finally the scalable cross channel capability of BankWorld was viewed as a key differentiator as the Bank had re-focused both its customer strategy and the product mix in line with its transformation strategy.

The adoption of services at BSB includes a generous selection of BankWorld functionalities which for now, will be available on the ATM channel and via SMS. The Bank will also be issuing VISA cards thanks to CR2’s CardWorld Producer module. Testing of new features is being undertaken on the current BSB network which will enable accelerated implementations at reduced costs. Projected roll out of ATM services including cardless access and SMS capabilities in addition to VISA card issuing and acquiring is estimated for March, 2015.
